I would like to write about my hometown’s summer festival. I live in Honjyo-Kodama in Saitama. Our town hold the Festival once a year. It’s the annual festival at the Hachiman Shrine. There are many street stalls and people buy many foods, like a Fried noodls with sause(焼きそば‐Yakisoba), a Flavored shaved ice(かき氷-Kakigoori), and a crepe. Also people enjoy goldfish scooping, shooting game and a raffle.
I carry portable shrine (神輿‐mikoshi)along a street with my father, friends, and neighbors.
This is a portable shrine, 神輿
It's very very heavy, so we lift up with all members of Mishima Atagokai(三島愛宕会)
‐喧嘩神輿‐
This picture is fighting with other team. Of course, it's just performance.
Recently this performance is prohibited at other festivals. Because it's very dangerous, but that's the very reason why visitors enjoy this festival. I think it's very cool performance!
To carry portable shrine is very hard, but it's good experience for me.
